Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, it is mostly gothic in style and the large tower in the centre of the Cathedral is a well known feature of the Liverpool skyline. Inside there are many beautiful stained glass windows and behind the altar is a large golden carving showing scenes from the last supper and the crucifixion.
